Product Upgrade Notice: UHP-500 Acquires EN60335-1Safety Approval & UHP-200/200A/350/500 complete IEC/UL/EN62368 Safety Replacement
The conduction-cooled UHP family is MEAN WELL new generation of industrial control power supply. As UHP-200/350 series are certified to the safety of household and similar electrical appliances, EN60335-1, they are widely appreciated by the market. Considering that the market demand for household appliances regulation has been increasing recently, the MEAN WELL UHP-500 series has officially obtained EN60335-1 certificate.
CSP-3000 is MEAN WELL first high-voltage power supply, providing 120V / 250V / 400V output voltage. Since it was launched, it has been highly favored and being widely used in laser, UV curing and charging applications. In order to make the product fit to the market application better, several upgrades from customers’ feedbacks are made, listed as follow：

Product Change Notice: Protection Method of LRS-200-48 & LRS-350-48 is changed to re-power on to recover mode
The all-purpose industrial standard power supply, LRS family, has completed the EN62368 safety upgrade in October 2019. To fulfill the latest safety regulation, tthe circuit design of LRS-200-48 and LRS-350-48 was changed, adjusting the protection methods such as Over Load Protection (OLP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP), and Over Temperature Protection (OTP) to“ shut down and latch off o/p voltage, re-power on to recover.” Other LRS-200/350 3.3~36V models remain the Hiccup mode protection. (Show as fig.1) This change only shows the difference during error state, while under normal working circumstances; all LRS series can maintain high quality and stable output as usual. Product Upgrade Notice: IRM-30/45/60, EPS-45S/65S, EPP-120S/400/500 Officially Obtained EN60335-1 Approval
In order to fulfill the increasing demands of end systems that require the power supplies’ compliance with the EU household electrical appliance requirements, MEAN WELL has dedicated resources for the upgrade of selected PCB type power supplies with TUV EN60335-1 (Household and similar electrical appliances) safety approval. The IRM-30/45/60, EPS-45S/65S, and EPP-120S/400/500 have completed the safety certification process, and customers that design these power supplies into their products can significantly reduce the system level safety fees, by bypassing various burdensome certification procedures, and the end system can quickly and easily obtain the safety approval.
The industrial use enclosed type standard power supply LRS is a super product launched by MEAN WELL after many years of expertise in serving the industrial power sector. Since its debut in 2015, the LRS family soon revolutionized the standard power supply industry due to its multitudes of outstanding features, such as ultra-high cost performance ratio, low profile design, 91.5% high efficiency, and low no load power consumption (small than 0.2W~0.75W by model), etc. Furthermore, the LRS reached annual sales quantity of 10 million units, making it an all-purpose product suitable for all types of applications.
Product Upgrade Notice: UHP-1000/1500/2500 & PHP-3500 Upgraded with Over Temperature Automatic De-rating Function
The conduction-cooled UHP family is MEAN WELL new generation of industrial control power supply, and its unique fanless design has been well received by the market since release. UHP family 1000W and above products (UHP-1000/1500/2500 & PHP-3500) come with the Programmable Current (PC) function, which allows the output current to be modulated between 20%~100% by applying an external 1~5VDC control signal. One common application for the PC function is charging application. Customers can use the PC function to control charge rate of batteries. During the charging operation, if the temperature is too high, traditional over temperature protection will shut-off the output power completely until temperature cools down. The upgraded UHP-1000/1500/2500 & PHP-3500 will have automatic output power de-rating when operated with the PC function, which will effectively improve product reliability and still charge the batteries at a slower rate to maintain equipment operation.
After deeply cultivating the Din Rail power supply market, MEAN WELL has managed to a foothold with millions of sales being made every year. Recently, we received some customers feedback on the plastic mounting clip. When being applied on the constantly vibrating devices (ex: railway transportation), the plastic mounting clip of Din Rail products may have long-term reliability doubt. The upgrade this time is to replace the plastic mounting clip material of 75~480W products with stainless steel components. Also, the die-casting material of SDR-960, TDR-960 series (960W) are replaced with stainless steel. For upgrade details and date, please refer to table 1.
To satisfy the 277VAC power system in North America, the usage in countries with unstable AC supply, end equipment with over voltage OVCⅢrequirement, and BSMI safety certificate in Taiwan, MEAN WELL optimizes the over-million-sales product, IRM series 5~60W standard product by upgrading the specification and acquiring for BSMI safety certificate.
Since the launch of the G3 family (RS, RD, RID, RT, and RQ series), it has been the first choice for multi-output models due to its high CP values. There was a minimum load limit for the multiple sets of output models, which is a common specification. However, to fulfill more application demands, the optimization this time brings more opportunities to the G3 Series.

As the SMD Type DC-DC converter SBT01/SFT01/DET01 series were launched 14 years ago, to purchase the manufacture materials became relatively difficult. From 1st, July 2019, the lead time of the SBT01/SFT01/DET01 series was prolonged to 90 days instead of 35 days and will be EOL in Sept. 30, 2019.
