Product Notice: Configurable Power Solution Website Update
We are pleased to announce to all our partners that in keeping with the enterprise mission “The endless pursuit of innovation and improvement”, MEAN WELL officially restructured the System Power Solution website to Configurable Power Solution website at the end of Feb. 2020. The reason for updating the website is that both system and modular power solutions, if we look at product configuration, it is obvious that their core products adopt modular design. Simply speaking, power shelf to the system power supply is like front-end case to the modular power supply, while power supply modules of the system power supply equal to power module cards of the modular power supply. Similar to assemble building blocks, both product lines can create solutions flexibly and quickly based on customer needs.

Product Notice: All Information Technology Equipment Products of MEAN WELL Acquire IEC/UL/EN62368 Safety Approvals
Since the new Information and Communication Technology Equipment safety standard, IEC/EN/UL62368-1, will replace IEC/EN/UL60590-1 by December 20th, 2020, MEAN WELL has completed the safety upgrade from IEC/EN/UL60950-1 to IEC/EN/UL62368-1 for the entire Information Technology Equipment products. With the robust support of the third party, TUV, UL, Dekra, SIQ and other international standard certification organizations, MEAN WELL again pioneers the standard power industry via the official safety upgrade announcement.

Product Change Notice: GSM40~220 Series, Indicator Light Color Change
As the medical regulations IEC60601-1 Chapter 7.8.1 require the LED indicator light of medical products to be green, MEAN WELL changed the color of the medical adaptor GSM40 ~ 220 series from blue light to the green light (refer to the illustrations below for details). The change has been implemented since2019/7, and there will be a transition period of the inventory.

In order to improve production efficiency, MEAN WELL optimized the A301 / A302-300-Fx (x = 3,4,5,6) series via adjusting the assembly method and changing the position of the DC input terminal block from the bottom to the upper position (shown as below). Product Upgrade Notice: IRM-01~60 Series Acquire IEC/EN/UL62368-1 Safety Approvals
Since the new IEC/EN/UL62368-1 safety standard will replace IEC/EN/UL60590-1 by December 20th, 2020, MEAN WELL has completed safety upgrade for the entire IRM-01~60 PCB module family one year before the new safety enforcement date. The upcoming IRM-90 series will also have IEC/EN/UL62368-1 upon release. Customers already using the IRM will be able to more smoothly transition their products to the new safety standards, thus improving product competitiveness.

Product Change Notice: MEAN WELL G3 Family is Changed to Kraft Box Packing
The G3 family, RS / RD / RID / RT / RQ series, has always been the first choice for multi-output high CP value industrial control power supply, reaching annual sales of over 5 million units. Such a large sales volume arouses our awareness of its packaging materials. Thus, the previous color packaging box of the G3 family is replaced with Kraft box (Figure 1), which can effectively reduce the wastewater and ink due to printing. Product Upgrade Notice: Constant Power Mode LED Power with DALI Dimming Function Optimization
MEAN WELL recently launched a number of LED power drivers with constant power output design, which have been favored by customers in the market and the sales grow continuously. The constant power design can support wide range of the output current from at least 50% to 100%, which can make customer design more convenient, to eliminate design compatible problems and reduce the stock of models. Adding a built-in potentiometer is a more flexible solution to set output current without connecting additional software. The only needed act is to adjust the output current to the target number thorough potentiometer during the production testing process.
