Bijna 20 jaar geleden startte Mean Well met de eerste medische power supplies. Inmiddels heeft Mean Well zich ontwikkelt tot een betrouwbare leverancier van power supplies voor de medische markt. Deze markt groeit sterk en de vraag naar externe adapters van medische kwaliteit blijft stijgen. Om te voldoen aan deze vraag heeft Mean Well de GSM12E/ U serie (12W) ontworpen.
De GSM12E/ U series zijn adapters geschikt voor wandmontage die worden geleverd met AC-plug opties. De adapters kunnen gebruikt worden voor applicaties in Europa (E Type) en de VS (U-type). Het is bovendien mogelijk om de adapters rechtstreeks aan te sluiten op het stopcontact, waardoor eindgebruikers geen extra AC-kabel nodig hebben om de adapters te koppelen.
Belangrijke producteigenschappen van de GSM12E/ U-serie zijn onder meer: een ruimtebesparend behuizingsontwerp, de naleving van het DoE Level VI- en EU ErP-regels, 2x MOPP-isolatieniveau en een lage lekstroom. Tevens is de serie geschikt voor BF-type applicaties. Daarnaast voldoet de GSM12E/ U-serie aan de EU EN60601 -1-11 norm en de VS ANSI / AAMI ES60601-1-11 veiligheidsnorm voor de thuiszorg. Hierdoor zijn de adapters zeer geschikt voor diverse soorten medische apparatuur voor de thuiszorg en draagbare medische apparatuur.
